New Kids

More kids have arrived. This morning I woke up to find a set a twins already born. A red pygora buckling and a black pygora doeling. The first two pictures are of the twins.

Early afternoon another first time mother gave birth to a black pygora buckling. He is pictured in the second two pictures.

The last picture is of the three kids born earlier this month out soaking up some sun, while their mothers tried to eat my camera as they thought maybe it was a snack.

Spring Kids are Here!!!

Kidding season started April 1st with a set of pygora twins out of a first time mother. She is a reverse badger patterned doe and was bred with a white pygora buck. The twins are a black buckling, with an agouti face and white belly, and a solid white doeling. Mallory is a very good mother especially with twins the first time. The top two pictures are of the twins.

On Thursday April 9th Khloe, a red angora doe, who was bred with my badger patterned buck, had a solid black angora doeling. Khloe is another first time mother, she is very proud of her baby. She doesn't let the baby go out of her sight. It is great to have the little ones running all over the place again. The second two pictures are of Khloe's doeling. More kids to come.

Awaiting Arrival of Spring Kids

Spring shearing is complete and we are awaiting the arrival of spring kids. The first one is due in 2 days. I can't wait to have little ones running and jumping all over the place, such fun to watch. All the mothers to be are out in the sun. I just started a job working second shift so I am hoping that my does will kid in the morning or early afternoon.
Well the spring weather is finally starting to arrive. The hoses just got turned back on so no more hauling 5 gallon bucks of water from the kitchen to the barn. I can't wait to start planting the garden but have to wait for the snow to finish melting. I was able to straighten some of my fence posts this morning so I am hoping the ground will finish thawing soon so I can move the fencing back out away from the barns.

Spring Like Weather

It was in the high 30's here today and sunny, since it has been so cold through January this is like a heat wave. It feels like spring makes me want to get ready to plant the garden. This morning when I went to the barn the goats were laying out in the sun warming themselves. One of my does was rolling around on her back with her feet in the air, funny to watch but it makes a mess of her fleece. My yearlings were running circles around the two alpacas and playing on their platform. My does are due to start kidding the first week of April. They are starting to show and it is so exciting. I will have angora and pygora kids this spring.

Middle of March is shearing for both my angora goats and pygoras. If you are looking for a colored or white mohair fleece feel free to contact me. I will post more information when the fleeces become available.
